Plenty of couples buy a 3 person tent for the spare floor rather than a third sleeper. Waterproofing varies more than size across this range, so check it before a trip. The ultralight three person tent weighs 1kg and is meant for summer, with minimal waterproofing. The 4 person 3 season tent sits under 1000 mm on fabric and floor, enough for light showers but not a tropical storm. Two of the pop-ups use silver-coated fabric. On the pop up camping tent waterproof, that's 170T polyester waterproof up to 1500mm, with a double door and overhead windows behind dense mosquito nets, and it fits 3 to 4 people for camping or a picnic. The blackout camping tent goes the other way with a full black coating, so the inside stays dark well after sunrise, which helps at a festival or after a night shift. Its floor is 2.4 × 2.4 m with 1.35 m of headroom.
