An ultralight sleeping bag makes sense when you carry your bed for days, on an alpine walk or a long bushwalk where every gram adds up by the last climb. Weights here start at 350 g in total for the ultralight down bag, filled with white duck down inside a nylon shell. If the bag only rides in the car, weight matters less, and our sleeping bags cover heavier, roomier styles.
Whatever bag you take, a lot of heat goes into the ground under you. Pack a mat from our sleeping gear as well, above all on frosty nights up high.
Most of the range is filled with down. The ultralight hiking bag holds 90% white duck down in a 320T nylon shell with a soft polyester lining, and weighs 500 g. The backpacking bag uses the same duck down and comes in 600 g and 770 g versions, so you can trade a few grams for a warmer night. Goose down bags sit alongside them. The lightweight goose down bag weighs 1300 g and packs to 18 x 18 x 22 cm, and the bigger goose down model lists its fill, with 400g of down in the 1000g version.
Not every bag here is down. The mummy sleeping bag has a hollow-fibre filling, a polyester shell and a pongee lining, with comfort down to 10°C, so it suits mild nights in spring and autumn. You will also find the lightweight liner: 128 g of stretchy nylon that fits in one hand, for hot nights on its own or as an extra layer inside a bag.
A mummy shape follows your body, so there is less air inside to warm. The ultralight hiking bag and the down filled bag are both cut this way. Rectangular styles give you room to move. The backpacking bag is rectangular, the extra large bag measures 220 x 85 cm, and the lightweight goose down bag opens flat to 210 x 160 cm so you can use it as a quilt. Colours run from blue, grey and green to green camouflage and two-tone styles.
Light bags reach their limit in deep cold. The winter down bag in this range, with duck down and a total weight of 1800g, is made for hard frosts, and you will find a wider choice of heavy fills in our winter sleeping bags.
