• This tactical softshell jacket uses a shark skin softshell in 96% polyester and 4% spandex. The scaled texture blocks the wind and lets moisture vapour out. No glued membrane that peels away after a year.
• Brushed fleece and mesh lining in two layers. The fleece keeps the heat in, the mesh moves sweat out. With a single lining you end up soaked in sweat within 30 minutes.
• 950g, which is light for a fleece-lined softshell with this many pockets. Enough fabric to protect you, without dead weight on your shoulders.
• 13-14 stitches per inch, where a basic jacket has 8-10. Tighter stitching holds better, and seams are where jackets give out first.
• Underarm vent zips. When you warm up on the move, open them and let the heat out without taking the jacket off.
• 5 zipped pockets, with 2 on the chest, 2 on the arms and 1 on the forearm, give your phone and small kit each an easy-to-reach place.
• Hood that tucks into the collar, so it does not hang around when you do not need it and adds no bulk under a helmet.
• Hook-and-loop panels on the shoulders and arms. Add your own patches or leave them bare.
