Waterproof cycling socks for mild to cool rides

These waterproof cycling socks keep water out from below and at the sides: PU membrane rated to an 8000 mmH2O water column (maker's figure). The protection stops at the elastic cuff, so water that comes in over the top stays inside.
Nylon outside, PU membrane in the middle and cotton inside, bonded in three layers. The blend is 50% nylon, 35% cotton and 15% elastane, and the cotton means they dry slower than fully synthetic socks.
Ribbed elastic cuff that does not dig in, 10 cm laid flat and about 20 cm around, and it keeps its stretch.
Double-layer Y heel and flat-sewn toe, with no seam rubbing at the toes.
At 160 g per pair they suit mild to cool rides, not hard frost.
