Hiking water filter

This hiking water filter is a 3 litre bladder that feeds a hose, an inline filter straw and a bite valve.

• At 132 g for 3 litres, it is the lightest way here to carry three litres of filtration, which you notice by day three of a route.
• A slide-lock bar lets the whole top open wide to scoop straight out of a creek, then lock shut and hang from the moulded handle.
• The hose runs through an inline filter straw to a bite valve, for drinking direct or filling bottles for the group.
• Its flat rectangular body lies against the back panel of a rucksack instead of rolling about like a barrel bag.
• Made of 0.35 mm TPU, the same wall thickness as the bigger bags, with markings in half litre steps to 3.0 L so you can see what is left.

Hiking water filter, 3 litres at 132 g

On a multi-day walk in the hills, water is usually close by and taps are hours away. The Gravity Water Filter Hiking bladder holds 3 litres for 132 g, so the water is the only weight you notice. Slide the top bar open, scoop straight out of a creek, lock it shut and hang it by the moulded handle. Gravity pushes the water down the hose, through the inline filter straw and out of the bite valve, which means a drink on the move or a bottle filled for somebody else without unpacking anything. The flat rectangular shape sits against the back panel of a rucksack rather than rolling around loose in the main compartment. Markings run in half litre steps up to 3.0 litres, so one look tells you whether the next stream is optional or not.
