This army style cap is plain 100% cotton, cut in the flat-topped shape of an old field cap, with an adjustable back that takes head sizes from 55 to 60 cm. Cotton lets air through the crown, which is what stops it turning into an oven in summer. Grey, green, blue and khaki are the four colours, and the cut is the same for men and women.
The peak throws shade across the eyes and the crown keeps sun off the top of the head, which is the main reason to wear one through an Australian summer. In winter the cotton holds a little warmth without the bulk of a beanie. Because the back adjusts rather than coming in fixed sizes, one cap covers most heads.
